John Carter is a graduate of Hillcrest High School (Dallas, Tx) and East Texas State University (now known as Texas A&M Commerce) where he became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
After graduation, he became a sports writer for the Dallas Times Herald before beginning a career in education with the Dallas Independent School District. After serving eight years as an educator, he founded and serves as the Chief Executive Officer for The Turner 12; “an empowering, educational experience for tomorrow’s leaders”.
He is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of the students that he serves and truly believes in the words spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr that “if we can help somebody as we pass along……then our living will not be in vain.”
He is the proud father of Johnequa Randall, Brittania Champion and Haley Hooper!
