What It's Like Being One of The 12 - Part 1

To The Turner 12 Classes to Come:

Hey, guys! It’s Jeniece Madison, 2011 Turner 12 graduate. I am here to help you get suited and booted for an awesome and humbling experience no other organization in your schools can give you.

I created this list of twelve things to help ensure your success and show you the fun you can have being in the T12. So, take heed of this list. I want nothing but the best from you all.

12. Family Share is FUN

Free food, cool games, and meaningful conversations with the board members. This is your time for bonding with the people who make this program possible! Don’t be afraid to talk to them. I promise they won’t bite.

11. Learn all you can, while you can at Summer of Choice

Just because the school year has ended, does not mean your learning for the next three months has to. Professionals of different careers want to make sure that you excel with far less mistakes than the generation before you. Plus, there’s free food and games!

10. Soak up Shadowing Sessions

This is your head start on what you desire your life to be after you graduate from college. I know that 2017 seems far away, but if you begin exercising before the race, it will make the run easier. Take advantage of this time and imagine yourself in that position.

9. Parents HAVE to come to Parent Meetings

It is important that your parent(s) know what you are involved in and who you are involved with. This meeting is vital because it will give your parents a chance to get more information (than what you are telling them) and engage in the educational fun you are having in the T12. It is only once a month. So make sure they come so Coach Carter won’t get on your nerves. . .just kidding (or am I?).

8. Study Sessions are for just that. . .studying

Remember, you joined the T12 to become better students. Study sessions are to help you enhance your learning skills to make better grades in school. It is inevitable that you will be set apart from the rest of your peers because are putting in the necessary work to get and stay ahead.

7. College Tours are COOL

T12 gives you a FREE opportunity (that others pay for) to visit your desired college campuses. Free tour, free food, and fun with your brothers and sisters! So just relax and take a look at your future homes.
